Alnwick Castle is the ancient ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland. Any would be enthusiast of Northumbrian history will find a wealth of artefacts depicting this important noble throughout the history of this aristocratic seat. Voted the Best Large Visitor Attraction - North East Tourism Awards 2006
Alnwick Castle is also famous as a film set, most famously as the back drop to many scenes from the Harry Potter series. Alnwick Gardens is adjacent to the castle and boasts a stunning water feature. It is allegedly home to the largest tree hous in the world that itself boasts a restaurant, ply area and visitor attractions.
